Default trouble with Mack's shipping

What do you suppose the trouble is with Mack's shipping? Ordered a few parts last Wed the 8th, They said everything was in stock, i called yesterday the 15th and they said it will be shipped in a couple of days. I said what's the matter, it's been a week and you haven't sent it yet? They said they have been busy. I told them to get there finger out and get it shipped. I just got an e-mail this afternoon from them and it was shipped out UPS today. Life is not easy anymore. Walt

That's my experience too. Seems to take them at least a week from time of order until it leaves their warehouse.

I had similar problems back a few years ago and basically stopped buying from them.

Mac's was always faithful in getting orders out. For two bucks more they would ship it the same day. I bet things have become slow in the past several months with the antique car parts businesses and as someone said they have let workers go.. Now that the economy has started showing some growth maybe we will see an improvement. Buying antique car parts is a luxury that can be put on hold, and I believe that has become a reality.

If they are busy enough that they can't ship their orders within a day or two then they are busy enough to hire more people.

Even 10 yrs ago in my store I shipped orders placed before noon on the same day, and orders placed in the afternoon the next day.

I have had similar issues with a couple of vendors including Macs recently. My guess is they use the "in stock" term loosely. I think if the manufacture has it in stock, it's "in stock". They then order it and relay it to us. It's called "just in time" inventory.
I get the impression all the vendors are just marketing companies buying from the same suppliers.

I had same problem with Macs and to a bigger extent with LeBaron & Bonney. After 2 weeks they(LeBB) sent an email with a UPS tracker no. saying it was shipped. 2 weeks after that I get a email telling me the item was out of stock! Waited another 4 weeks then after several emails cancelled my order and went elsewhere! Customer service is non existant! They dont deserve to stay in business.

don't know about Macs, but a lot of dealers now don't order parts from their suppliers until they get an order; especially slow mover stuff. That way, they don't have to have money tied up in inventory, save cost of storing it,ect. This is not unique to the old car business, either.

I placed an order on Friday afternoon, it shipped Monday and it showed up today. I've ordered several times from them and they've all been great experiences. No complaints here.

I've never had any issues with Mac's getting parts to New Zealand.

I placed and order last week, and have been wondering when it will arrive. Guess I better call tomorrow and see if it has even left yet...

I ordered a short time ago was given the option For >>>> $3.50 MORE <<<<
Some one would get off there BUTT and do there job and get it out the same day.
As it was mid afternoon I said Right But I wanted the part A.S.A.P.
2-3 Days I had the part.

Maybe it's the $$$$ that worked or the excuse of BAD economy / employee lay offs / That didn't.
Some time Getting rid of the people that acually do the work is not a good thing When cuts are made you have have to be able to stop before you get to the bone.( you can't make soup out of just the Bone, you need some scraps on it also )
