Spedometer Cable Issue
Under the category "If it ain't broke - don't fix it...":
While doing a routine lub job, I decided to clean and graphite the speedometer cable on my '30 Model A. After reassembly, I find that the oval meter will show speed up to about 30mph and then the cable seems to drop out of position and the meter drops to zero. I removed the cable, replaced it for a second time and made sure the ends were engaged - same result. Any thoughts? |

Re: Spedometer Cable Issue
sjessen - I am guessing here, but make sure there is a washer or flat at the speedo end of the cable to keep it from slipping back into the cable housing.
Maybe one of the speedo repairers can chime in. Ron/IA
