The barn find
My name's Jayce and I wanted to start a new thread about my weekly findings in my grandpa's old barn. Now let me say, if I were to tell you about everything we find each week, this thread would be going on for at least a year, or more. My dad and I go to the old barn each week and get what we like to keep it safe and away from thief's. I'll start it off by putting dates down when we got it, and what we get. I can't guarantee pictures every time, but I'll give a full description of what it is. What isn't pictured is in the trunk of the car, and I can't get it because my dad is out. Lets begin!
May 31, 2015: *Two 1968 Hemisfair Texas License Plates *Two 1967 Texas License plates *One 1951 Texas License Plate *One vintage ford script shifter nob *One vintage Model A shifter nob. *Two hood ornaments (About a foot, foot/half long, red, white, blue flags on the front of them) - Can anyone identify? (Locked in the trunk, so I can't get a picture yet.) *One 1947-48 Plymouth rear glass cover. *One unopened box of 25 sets of 1968 Hemisfair Texas License Plates. (This is after I opened the trunk): *One Lincoln Zepher hubcap *One Chevy Hubcap *One odd vintage ford script hubcap (Not a model T, but not a model A. My dad has never seen one like it before) *One spot light for a Chevy (Year unknown) *One new-old stock glass dome light. Last edited by Jayce; 06-01-2015 at 02:20 PM. |

Re: The barn find
I see that a pair of unused plates went for 129.00 on ebay. 25 sets will flood the market be careful selling them.

My grandpa had about 7 boxes about 10 years ago, but someone broke in, and stole them. My dad and I were lucky to find this box. |

Re: The barn find
Yes there is, we found 3 Zenith Carburetors, brand new still in the box Model A piston Rings, about 14 full sets of Model A wheels, a 1930 Model A 5 window coupe, 1928-29 Model AA truck, brand new model A bumper, brand new Model A ooga horn, with two brand new headlights, enough running boards to make any Model A restorer's head spin, and a bunch more buried under Early V8 ford parts. I'll be sure to get pictures as soon as I can.
