Default BOYCE Motometer Question

In an antique shop, a friend of mine found a FORD Boyce Motometer, but instead of the FORD oval, it is inscribed, "Made Especially For The Ford Automobile".
Is this a "T" Model Motometer, or could it be for an early "A" ? Was the FORD oval a later addition ?
It came with a set of brass wings. There is no wreath design.
Thank you,
MIKE
