Default fuel pump rebuild....

I'm considering rebuilding my fuel pump due to what seems like I'm starving for fuel while driving. Still trying to sort out the old truck. I've had the carb rebuilt soon after I got the truck due to it sitting for almost 30 years. Over the last few weeks I've started driving it around town for 5 and 10 miles runs. Usually seems to run fine. Went to drive it yesterday and got a couple miles into it and it seemed to start starving for fuel. Made it back home. Tried again later and done the same thing. My fuel bowl stays full. I ran out of gas last week and after putting fuel in it didn't take 30 seconds to fill every thing up and start running. My fuel tank is new so I shouldn't be picking up trash anywhere. I don't have a fuel pressure guage, so I don't know what the stock pump is doing. I wanted to use the stock pump insted of going with an electric pump if I can get the manual pump dependable. Thanks in advance as always.

Need to check with Charlie ny here on the Barn. He rebuilds fuel pumps and believe he also sells parts (diaphragms) that are compatible with current fuels.

Consider replacing the flexible fuel line between the fuel line
from the tank and the fuel pump. They get old and crack allowing
air into the line but it won't leak fuel. They will also collapse
internally which will reduce the amount of fuel going to the pump
or stop it completely. Don't get a NOS flex line. Buy a new one, preferably
one from Bob Shewman that uses ethanol proof materials in it's construction.

x2 on Bob Shewman............usually NOS or swap meet hoses turn into a licorice gum
drop once corn gas runs thru them.

So to be clear, the truck runs as you'd like for about ten miles and only then it acts up?
It almost sounds to me like a bad coil.
Do me a favor if you are able. Swap the coil out with a known good one. See if anything changes.
