1946-48 hot air heater question
This thread is to seek information on hot air heaters factory installed in cars and trucks AFTER 1940 models. Hoping an owner of such will share pictures and specific information on certain parts in the system as installed.
Thanks in advance |

Re: 1946-48 hot air heater question
To the best of my knowledge, most of the heaters were dealer installed options. I'm unsure how exactly to distinguish those from factory original equipment. It would be helpful to understand what specific info or certain parts you are wishing to better understand.

Re: 1946-48 hot air heater question
Are the attached images of components for 1942-48 hot air heaters?
The shroud on the left is for 1940 hot air heaters, but the one on the right (shorter and with a recessed area for fan clearance)and is the one I hope to identify. The diverter assembly is also different from 1940 in that it has 90 degree bends etc.0F92497C-078F-40EA-8D14-AE2914D2320F.jpg 75C83208-1F71-4428-84DE-D6BD64B84DD4.jpg |

Re: 1946-48 hot air heater question
Don't know that I've seen a hot air heater on a 46-48 (I had misread your post). I'll just watch and learn from others.

I did not know they were using hot air that late as well. Interesting.

Ol' Henry, who hasn't been active here for a while, has a '46 with that heater in it. Find him in the Member's roster and PM him. He was always very helpful.

Search Member's List for "Old Henry" an attorney in Utah. He has such a heater in his car.
