Re: 47 ford armrest
I have never heard of a coupe sedan. Far as I ever knew there were coupes and sedans (tudor & fordor). Maybe I missed something?

Gotcha, we have a 46 business coupe (no back seats). Learn something everyday here!

Re: 47 ford armrest
For whatever it's worth... I have a LB catalog that lists the rear armrest forms, for a 41-48 sedan coupe, both Ford, & Merc.
off-topic, but, back in the day, meaning in the mid 50's, when I used to work at a used car lot, my boss/owner would 'club' the coupes. I think every 46-48 coupe that passed through our lot, had a back seat put in it. If that was a widespread practice, it might tend to confuse folks today, causing them to think that coupes came with the back seat. JMO Last edited by bobH; 03-05-2012 at 01:26 PM. |

Re: 47 ford armrest
Sedan Coupe was the more frequently used terminology for the long door coupe bodied cars. The business coupe was the short door body. The business coupes are kind of rare in the post war years. They were a real coupe by the old standards from pre-war days.

Re: 47 ford armrest
In 1963 my `47 Merc short door coupe had a seat in the back. i always thought thats the way they come because this had stock upholstery and i bought it off the original owner. Every 46-48 ford and merc short door coupe that i saw in those days had a split seat in front. most with a seat in the back. My uncle had a `47 ford short door coupe. In 1951 i can remember riding and bouncing on seat in the back with my cousins. -- Barry
