Default Flywheel troubles

I have a lightened flywheel that I took to a local machine shop to be balanced. They called this morning to report that there are cracks around the center of the wheel. This is not my area of expertise so I thought I should ask here.
How common are cracks around the center (around the bolt holes) and do they represent a reason to discard the unit?
I would like to add a photo of the magnaflux results but I can't get my 2MB jpg photo to upload.
Should I go in search of a new cut down flywheel for my insert engine or proceed with this one?
Anyone know of somebody that deals in lightened flywheels?

Heat cracks on the face might be one thing but cracks where you are talking about is a different story. They are talking about where it mounts to the crank shaft? If so I might be looking for different flywheel.
I say might because I would like to see what others think.
Some may debate it but when we have our flywheels balanced they are done with the pressure plate attached without the clutch disk.

Get rid of it, if it was not important they would not have mentioned it.

This is the first I've heard of the Model A flywheel cracking at the mounting holes.
If that's the case use the flywheel for a base to mount your grinder, buffer, or anvil.

I have done probably a hundred or more flywheels and have never seen one that is cracked where you found yours to be. I don't think I would use it except on an engine that I didn't care about or just for testing.
