Default 30 coupe seat

Would someone give me step by step directions to remove the entire seat. I am installing new interior kit and need to get at the lower side panels. Would appreciate it.

It's not hard. Think of it as a three piece process; the seat; the bellows; and the seat frame. The seat frame and the backrest are one big L-shaped piece. The folding "bellows" connects the top of the seat back to the package tray.

There may be a long, skinny upholstered panel covering the package tray (although they are frequently missing). Adjust the seat all the way forward, and pull that panel toward the front of the car to remove it. There may be a few small brads to be dealt with in order to get it to slide. Once that is out of the way, the bellows is likely tacked to the package tray with more of those brads. Pop it free, so that the bellows is complete free of the package tray.

Lift the front of the seat bottom, slide it forward and pull it out.

You can now see the screws in the wooden seat frame on either side of the sliders. Remove those screws. Then get a friend, tilt the seat frame forward and remove it through the passenger door.

Good luck.

Ken
