Default Two tooth steering box adjustment

I decided that is was time to get that darned slack out of the steering which had crept up on me over the years.I did not want all the hassle of removing the column and do it on the bench.I was just hoping the eccentric rivet was near enough and I could do it in the car .It was not to be,dead ahead with about 1" play on the wheel the steering locked up solid with about one third left hand lock.DRAT!!! Hmmm I thought, that pesky rivet has got me.I thought there must be a way to adjust the eccentric rivet with the column in the car. After some thinks got the bit from an impact driver which snugly fitted a 8 MM small ring spanner (wrench???) A bit of duct tape connected the two. I slacked all 5/8" nuts and removed the rear one and big flat washer for better vis. Armed with my best reading glasses and small flashlight after a fiddle I could engage the slot .The view is very restricted Lifting the wrench up 1/3 of a turn centralised the steering, now I have 1/2" play dead ahead and no bind on lock. This is a RHD box so I guess to lift the engaged bit it would cure a bind on right lock.Took half an hour or so of fiddling/adjusting but better than pulling the column. No doubt this has been done many times but I have never seen it posted.

Yep, it takes a while to get all four adjustments adjusted.. I 'bent-up' a screw driver to get at the last one rather than pull the column and box.. It works..
