Checked on my Flathead at the machine shop today. The owner who has done all of our machine work for years said that my 221 is the first block he has ever seen with .080 over sized cam bearings and he is positive they are factory. has anyone else ran into this? my block is 39 81-T

Ford part # 01A-6261-D ---bearing camshaft front and rear--2.010 OD
Ford part # 01A-6262-D ---bearing camshaft center --2.010 OD
The standard one has 1.928 OD

Try Joblot automotive ---Dennis Carpenter ---

I have the same oversize cam bearings in the 36 L-B engine I just tore down. If you find any I would like to know where, I will need some just have not started searching yet.

One thing I can say about cam bearings is: They very seldom ware out, They are the best lubricated and least loaded bearing i the engine. You can measure them before you replace them

I believe we are talking about the cam bearing bore ID in the block, not the journal size. Some bores cam oversize from Ford for some reason. Been discussed here before I think.
