Default Master Cylinder

Has anyone relocated their master cylinder to the fire wall and installed hanging brake and clutch pedals? 1949 Ford Custom is my ride. How difficult and is it worth it? What Master Cylinder did you use?

Most '51 and earlier cars that have been converted to hanging pedal/s were done to accommodate added power brake boosters. (easiest place to locate one)

Otherwise can't see any advantage to adding a hanging pedal.
If you are really hung up on doing so just look at '52 and later Ford installations.

There are kits that are sold by the streetrod parts companies that make the job easy. My old neighbor did it on his 49 Ford. It was a fairly simple job. Check with Classic Performance Products as I think they have the kit. The other companies to check are Jamco, ECI, and Master Power Brakes.

Did it on my 51.
I fabbed up a pedal ass'y and used used a mid 60's duel chamber master and booster. I converted to a Disc/drum system. Make sure you specify a drum/drum or a disc/drum master to match your system. Well worth the time and expense especially if you plan on driving freeway speeds. Several of the hot rod suppliers offer bolt in systems if you want to go that route.
