Talking 41-48

Hi All, was just wondering how much work was involved in placing a 41 Ford coupe on a 46-48 frame? Mine is toast and have access to a nice 46 frame. Heard the 41 is narrower like a 40, but no real information on it, any help is appreciated

Use the 46 Chassis, I had a 41 Chassis under a 46 Convertible there are just minor differences and they all bolt on.

The 1941 cars were a significant change from earlier models in width and in two choices for engines. They had an all new frame to work with the wider body. The changes between 41 & 42 aren't big ones but just enough that the 1941 body mounts won't all line up with the 1942 frame. They changed some fittings. The X-member is different in subtle ways and the rear frame rails have a different cross member and width between rails is different in the back. It would take some work to get a 1941 body to fit on a 1942 thru 48 type frame. It can be done but it's not a bolt on and go situation unless the bolt holes are changed somewhat. It might be easier to go the other way as was previously stated.
