Re: spindle ball welding
Snyders (and I'm sure others as well) sell them on an exchange basis with new balls welded in them.

Re: spindle ball welding
A & L Parts in Canton, Conneticut has been installing new balls for lots of years. Now that Al Lepore is gone, I believe his son Alan, who is running the business, is still doing the steering arms and pitman arm balls? They do a excellent job.
Give them a call at 860-693-0112. Ron |

Re: spindle ball welding
Ron is correct in his response above. I believe A & L Parts do the reballing for all or almost all the model A parts vendors. They turn down the ball to a cylinder and press on a hardened ball with the hole in the ball slightly smaller than the stud (cylinder) on the arm and then weld the top of the ball and cylinder together. You can't tell the arms have been reballed once installed and I think the way they do it is much better then drilling a hole in the arm and welding in a ball with a shank on it. I have had several done by them and am quite happy with the results. I believe A & L Parts are a little less expensive than the other vendors.

Re: spindle ball welding
I've always had the worn places on the balls built up with weld and filed them back to round. Time consuming but, I believe that one piece should stay one piece.
