I am with Mitch you must have had a 4 blade fan and it was easier to get the pump out this way.

Are those .45cal. longs in the back ground? Should have use a .22, to much power.

I suspect the wife came home and found it baking in he kitchen oven. After she used up the 5 bullets (she's a poor shot) You are still alive. She got so cranky she hit you over the head with it.

Did you have a jack under it to loosen the head?

Loosing a blade will do that.

Another coat of paint would have held it together. Next time don't be so cheap!

Very creative. Some really good laughs. Thanks.

Like our machines, it was simple.

Tiny basically got it.

I was carrying too many things and when i set it on the bench.....there wasn't enough bench under it and it went to the floor. Unfortunately it fell on a 2 inch angle bracket which busted it.

Thanks for playing.

Yo' Buddy, or a BREAKIN' BAR
Cast iron is strange & sometimes very FRAGILE! There were NO signs of a previous crack, even. I jacked further back on Minerva's pump, to try to get a stuck head popped loose, & it DIDN'T BREAK!

Mike beat me to it. I saw a blade break off and things went downhill from there.

Did you tap on the front of the pump to break the gasket loose?

I should have read page two before posting.

Rocket Man,
I put the base of a screw jack against the water pump & the udder end on the front main bearing nut.

Yes, fortunately I have 2 more April 28 and later housings like the one I dropped, as well as 1 weird one that has no grease fittins and 2 of the early style housings. (with the full bottom)
