Why buy new, I don't think that they are available. Rebuild the old ones, or get some from a flee market.

I just got replacements, had them garnet blasted, rust killed, etched primed, and painted.
They came out great.

I think you probably know there are at least three styles of model A backing plates. There were some unique ones on the first model A's that were made in 27 and very early 28. First style common style has a smooth adjusting cone housing - most of 28 and early 29. The second style has a notch in the lower part early 29 to early 30. The third style has a notch most of the way around the adjusting wedge housing. The third style is what is used on a 31's. Page 7-4 describes the different styles. I might have a 31 set of rear plates that have the tracks redone. The plates were sandblasted, primed, painted gloss black and the tracks repaired. There are a couple of dings that do not effect the function and could easily be fixed if desired. They are not mint, but nice. I have all 28/29 model A's and I redid them before I knew there were different styles.

I have all mine off my '28 Coupe for installation of new tracks; they are made out of some pretty beefy metal...

I installed new tracks on the front plates and new tracks / camshaft housings / camshafts on the rears... there's some mild pitting, but they will still outlast me...
