Does anyone make reproductions of these covers?

Re: 1933 spare tire cover
Frank, I don't know how a 33 compares to a 32. However here's the reproduction cover which was made for my 32 Cabriolet.
This was a one-off custom built model created on an English Wheel. The section that covers the tyre tread was made from 8 pieces of 20g mild steel welded together, whereas the side wall cover was created using 4 pieces. The "stainless" trims are in fact chromium plated convex section brass with 2 ba studs silver soldered to the rear and then secured with brass nuts. The outer is secured to the tyre with an over centre clasp. At the time I was lucky enough to borrow an original to copy. It was one helluva job making it and cost a packet. From memory, about £900 20 years ago ! |
