Recall that when I replaced the gasket on my Ford/Merc-O-matic , I got it from NAPA. It fits a lot of tranny's up into the late 70's.
Thought that the fill tube can be removed without taking off the pan. (held on with a flare nut )

51,

It's time to change the fluid. Fill tube is rusty, quite a few pin holes.
Flare nut frozen, plan to take the pan off and remove tube on the bench.
Just wondering why the date code for the gasket indicates 1955 to 1959.

I've got a source for the tube but it has the same code.

Bob

Recalled that I had purchased a spare gasket.
NAPA pn. ( 1-4423 ) Don't think that it's the wrong thing when you see the box that it comes in, it's folded
Maybe the date code is because that's the last time it was changed.
