Default Spare tire problem

I have a set of 19" Universal tires that are fairly new for my 31 Roadster. My problem is the spare tire. The tires have a rib profile on the side wall that is keeping my tire from going into the fender well of my 31 Roadster. I have an old Arrgol (Spelling) tire that doesn't have that and the tire slips right in but that tire is all cracked on the sides and definitly not safe even as a spare. I know everyone says let the air out of the tire and I'm not going to do that, even then it really doesn't fit because of the rib on the side. I'd rather have one already filled with air if I need it in a hurry without have to pump it up along side of the road. The fender well might be a little pushed in to make it not fit. My question is does anybody know of a tire that is thinner and even littler in weight or even do you have one for sale in nice shape with no cracks. Thanks for the input.
