Today, April 30, 2011, and according to the Model A News (MARC) and The Restorer (MAFCA), the new revisions of the MARC/MAFCA Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards are to be released.

Anybody got theirs yet?

Will this cause a total RERestoration of cars? What are the new "Must Have" parts, flea market season starts tomorrow and I want to make buck when I can.

The judges are supposed to use the old standards in San Diego, but some of what's in the new rules is bound to sneak in.

The following is from the MARC web site -

Printing Status Update (4/30/11): A few weeks ago, during the review of the "printers proof" of Rev 3 (2011), a few errors and incomplete statements were identified. These items have since been resolved with Rev 3 (2011) approved by both MARC and MAFCA JSC Chairman. The document has been returned to the printer for final printing, which is expected to be completed by May 6th and shipped to the respective offices.

I sent my money in very soon after the price was released and they were taking pre orders. I bought 2 copies, am wondering now if I will actually get mine, since I ordered it so long ago. I am usually very optomistic, but this time, maybe not so much... Still can't wait to view the results of everyones efforts.

I'm a bit taken aback that both clubs charge $9.50 for shipping; postage on a pile of papers like that can't amount to more than $1.50 or $2 at most................

There is a two-year grace period until revisions are to be taken into effect. That means it will, at a minimum be the MARC Meet in Lexington before they will be required. The Chief Judge will address this with each Judge at the meeting at each of the Meets prior to them becoming mandatory, ...and since most Team captains are a member of the JS Committee, that should not be an issue.
