yea there's alot of sick people out there...

Best to never go alone to meet someone and if at all possible meet in daylight hours in a busy area with cameras (like Walmart parking lots or busy gas station).

if the person seems fishy just leave - there's plenty of (insert car/parts here) out there.

Have you ever noticed how many crimes are related to Craigslist in some form or fashion?

very sad-his children stated that he was always extremely cautious and would always meet in public places-I guess this last time was the fail..........

If in doubt, just dont do it. If it's being "given" away, let it go.

In my area a gentleman advertised his Cuda for sale in a free online classified site a year ago. 2 men showed up to take it for a test drive. The seller went with them for the test drive. The seller was found dead a couple days later and one of the buyers has since been convicted of murder and the second buyer never found. You just can't be too careful. Wayne

Mr Runion was a member of a club I belong to ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Actually a car club that meets for breakfast every Tue AM. I do not know him personally, but I have seen him at meetings. I urge everyone to be very careful of Craig's List. There have been just too many bad things connected. If you use it be very careful.

Sadly the police have confirmed that the Runions are deceased. Their SUV was found in a shallow farm pond. Their bodies nearby. One person is in custody. Friends please be very careful when dealing with Craig's list.

Isn't blaming Craigslist rather like blaming guns for killing people?

Yes, to a certain extent. On the other hand, Craigslist seems to attract scenarios where scams originate. EBay does not seem to have the same issues. And I do agree that blaming guns is not the answer but the problem does kinda remind me of this Youtube video!!

Not blaming Craig's list, just saying be very careful. There have been many bad situations connected. I would also say to be careful with guns. Neither kill people, but bad people using them do.

I buy an sell on CL all the time I never let anybody come to the house I always meet them up th street at the market . I always get a phone number and talk to a real person. if I,m buying I let them tell me what they want. Even I don,t like going to sombodies house by myself ,,,anything could happen

I wonder the number of crimes verses the number of craigslist ads?

Yea i wouldnt blame craigslist, no different then putting a classified ad in the newspaper or auto trader magazine, weirdos are out there and could live only 3 blocks away right now...

yea if i can help it i meet in a local hardees parking lot (very busy cornner, police station 1 block away) to sell things. Plus its easier to have people who aren't familiar with the area meet in an easy to find highly reconizeable location.

The only people I have ever come across here in OZ that won't let you near their house and where the item is garaged are harley sellers.

Does this say something about the brand of bike, or the owner, or their general paranoia ?

looks like he came from a decent family too-they had him turn himself in.............

I always meet at a Walmart lot-they are everywhere with plenty of people present.

Craigslist has become an everything goes site. So they allow anything in the ads and that breeds the notion "you sleep with dogs you wake up with fleas". Anytime I meet anyone for a transaction I make sure I check them out and I am carrying!
