I'm 76 headed soon for 77. Graduated from Model Ts in my teens to Model As and then to the V-8 Club in 1974.

I'm 74 and a couple of years older than my '48 Super Deluxe Tudor. It's not flathead powered, but an Olds with a Muncie 4-speed. I've been around flatheads all my life, tho having learned to drive in dad's '51 F1 and drove my grandad's '52 F3 quite a bit. I thought that ole 4-speed was fun, but my granny didn't like it at all. She could barely drive it! It was their only vehicle for years.

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
Well I see we need someone who is 57 so I'll volunteer...working on cars since I was a kid, first my Dad's then mine. I grew up with my Dad's MGA's, TR3's and such in the driveway. He still comes for lunch every weekend to help and see my progress on the '49 F-47, you could add him as an associate member at 84 if you like. Having a flathead is like having 8 lawn mowers on the same crankshaft...I love it.
Cheers

Almost 10 years ago, in April 2010, a poll was included in a similar thread on this forum with the results as pictured. Largest group then was in their 60's.

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
Cool post, interesting stat. I’m 66. Won’t help with lowering average too much and simple add in as, I guess, I’m only one 66

I'm only 70, but want to mention my first car, at age 15, was a 31 Ford. And I drove it hard for a couple years.

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
79 today, first flathead was a 1950 ford four door V8 in high school. Oldest 1936 5 window coupe with Mercury V8. Only flathead left is a 1950 F1 with an original 226h assembled at the Henry Ford plant in Long Beach, Calif.

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
As I stated in an earlier post, I turned 65 a few weeks ago . Ever since I turned 60 yrs. ago, I've been thinking that "I was getting old". However, since reading this thread I have come to realize that I am just a young wippersnapper! Thanks guys - I am now more energetic & even feel younger ! - F F

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
Add another for 81. Age does make things more difficult and time consuming but, I can cope with that. My big problem now is the propensity to loose my tools while I am working.
