I'm only 60 My first was a 42 pickup with a 53 mercury under the hood. Back then that was the ugliest truck to all my buddies . And now they all want one. Proof that things do look better with time, like all of us.

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
Man! I didn't realize I was hanging out with a bunch of old guys. I'm a lot younger (25) but, unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I have 50 years of experience at being 25. My wife says I can't stay 25 because we have a 22 year old granddaughter. I just say "that's her problem".
Keep them Fords purring. |

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
I'll be 78 in a few weeks and thankful I've made it this far.
The toughest part for me is getting up and down while working on these old cars. Can't be without one though. |

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
I’m 62. Bought my first Ford V8 about ten years ago and fell in love with that little motor. I thought the end was near for me working on project vehicles but, you guys still working on stuff in your eighties absolutely gives me hope that I may get mine done!!..... Thanks,...Mark

Re: WHO Is the Oldest Early V8 Forum Member?
I am 82 and still coming in from my heated shop every day with greasy hands. My first car was a 39 Plymouth coupe that I dated my wife of 62 years. I still remember how nice those shifts into 3rd gear were! Then a 50 Ford and Fords ever since. She is always telling me to stop trying to act when we were in our younger years.
