RyanB,
Why are you joining this forum ? My reason is to learn about the Model A and share information with other forum users. If the forum has some rules, then you use them or go somewhere else. Very simple. Marc |

It is always an interesting question what is restoration and when does it become a hot rod? Like many of said ask here and help will come. This is a site that tends toward traditional but I know many of the participants and there are many not completely stock Model A amongst them.

Don't sweat it any at all. HC heads, Hot cams, synchro transmissions, 12 volt concersions, downdraft cabruretors, and hydraulic brakes come up often. As long as you are running an original 4 banger as far as I am concerened your participation is welcome. Several people seem to post non A stuff all of the time and get away with it, although it is close to A era it has nothing to do with Model A's. I just skip over their posts and move on to something that is closer to on topic. Rod

For what it is worth i bought a model A because it had mechanical brakes. Those leaky other kind were intolerable.

I think what needs to be done now is A) If your weather is bad, go out to your garage and do something A'ish and breath the fresh air. or B) If your weather is good, go out to your garage and start 'er up and go for a drive and breath the fresh air. Relax, enjoy .

This horse is definitely getting to be beat to death here ...and probably will continue in the future. Kinda sad no matter which "side" you're on!
One issue that I do find amusing here is how some folks get really offended that this particular forum site is designated for stock restoration fellas. Fellas that are Purists! Ironically THAT just absolutely ticks some people off! Why is that? Yet on the flip side, no one ever gets offended if we go to a McDonalds restaurant and they refuse to serve us Mexican food, -even if that is what we might want. It is almost as if some people expect Ryan to cater to what they want ...and not what Ryan wants! And then when we are all politely reminded what his rules are by the man in charge, folks will still continue to disobey the rules citing excuses like we need to be more tolerant ...or it isn't Chevy engine's we're discussing. Kinda sad for everyone involved!! ![]() . . |

I wonder how much would be left of this forum if all of those of us who are NOT pure restorationists would no longer post. Anybody care to start a poll?

I think we should hold a poll to determine if we stop the thread.

See, THAT is what I think is offensive to many. First off, ALL of us are guests here. None of us have the "right" to be here! Second, this site does not exist because any one, --or any few of us remain here!! Third, many of us here are hot rodders too HOWEVER the rules have been clearly defined by which we are supposed to participate. Therefore let's abide by the wishes of the owner of the site and discuss Model-A's within the parameters he set forth. That is showing respect to him. Choosing to complain about his rules ...or blatantly disobeying them, --or threatening to go play elsewhere only creates hard feelings. Nobody "wins" in something like that. Its really not that hard to play by the rules!! . |

I love the Ford Barn and though I don't comment often I have learned a lot here. But I don't have time to read every thread. And if it is about something I'm not interested in, I don't look at it. Why get yourself all stressed out?
