Because there are likely some parts you can harvest from it. Overdrive, transmission, seats, ...

Interesting reading... I too have Hagerty but have never had to file a claim, and hope I never do! Been with them for many many years.

I would ALWAYS want the remains of my vehicles back.Body ruined?Put another one on it.My Coupe had a Mitchell OD,and a Brumfield head. The Mitchell is in another Coupe I bought, and the head will go on my pickup.I will either find another body,or sell off the nice chassis.I sold a lot of nice parts off of the ruined body.Rumble lid and cushions, instrument panel, popout switch, handles, subrails, fenders and aprons, runningboards, step plates, etc. Some stuff I still have, and will either sell or use.Nice bumpers, wiper motor, chrome gearshift and brake levers, horn, luggage rack.Plus I ended up with a nice clean, running rolling chassis. There was almost no fire damage, the damage came from fighting the fire with a backhoe. They tried to rip out a section of floor, but pulled a car out through the cellar door instead. They ripped a couple of holes in the gas tank, but it still had a half tank of gas after the fire.

I've had Hagerty for years with on issues. Take lots of photos so there's no issues if you every have to file a claim.
