I like Wheeler Dealers, but it would be improved, IMHO, if Mike retired and Ed remained.

I enjoy the show but would like top see the exchange rate mentioned. The fact that none of the shows give a total on labor invested and the value of the labor makes the "profit" highly questionable. Bob

Is it a coincidence that the production company and the site of the show are only a mile away? I think they started there own production company, filmed an episode or two and sold it to the channel. How about the fact that it is 1 hour long and most others are 1/2 hour, lower costs to produce and lower cost to the network?

Mike is correct, Graveyard Cars started off as a self produced Internet series on Vimeo. Hard to knock the entrenprenuerial nouse, you have to admire the quality the level of work that they do? Having worked in a garage for years, I can assure you that most days would just about qualify for still life status, let alone a TV series so I suppose they have to add a little "human interest" which I agree is not everyone's taste. However I can put up with it if it means I see car shows on TV

Having worked in restoration shops for most of my life Graveyard Carz shop sure looks top flight to me. Mark sure impressed me with his knowledge of the cars he works on, and features a lot of fine details of the restorations. For some reason I think he has a general collision shop that is paying the bills, and doing the bodywork on the restorations. It is TV and nobody wants to watch block sanding, but tips are always good to see. Bob

Funny you should say that, i saw an episode where he showed the proper way to block sand so that you keep body lines crisp.

I like to watch car shows but this one i really cant stand, I took off the setting to record the up coming shows, even though im sure it will be a real nail biter. Im so sick of crap tv of all kinds and discovery seems to have an over abundance of stupid reality based shows. Just shows the moral decay of this great nation and how much trouble we are really in as a society if this is what people want to see for entertainment.

The only show I was interested in was on Discovery and was Philly Throttle. I was interested mainly because its an actual shop about 45 minutes from here and the guys work on nice old bikes. One of my customers has his WLA down there right now. The "host" of that showed stopped its production because he didn't want it being a big drama like all the rest.

Logan is correct especially when you see current episodes of Gas Monkey with the Model A they sold up on a lift or still on the shop floor. Did the guy "return" the car? Is it in for "service"? Possibly the car is buying recycled?

That being said - I watch each and everyone of these type of shows shows. Either I need a life or I am truly a "car -nut"! Thank God for the Velocity Channel.

It is all fun guys -

Be well -

Saw a neat show this week on Velocity Channel (or was it Discovery?). Legendary Motor Cars with the Canadian guy that is on 'What's My Car Worth?' Peter Klatt I believe was his name. He sure has a nice shop. They were rebuilding Mustangs but there were some antiques in the background at his shop. Maybe they'll do some 30's Fords eventually.

I also like it. It seems more real to me.

I check it often now, there are some good shows there. On the other hand, there is way TOO much overhauling and shows featuring ugly foreign cars that I have NO interest in !!!!!!!

All of these "reality" shows are scripted. Period. It would be pretty boring if the camera crew followed them around and recorded their actual time.
"FAST AND LOUD" (Gas Monkey Garage) is hosted by a guy, who is really full of himself and his sidekick, who is in love with his own silly beard.

The last 2 shows of graveyard cars have been very good in detail!! A little less Mark thinking he's Rocky. His pop corn eating buddy needs to take a hike!
Mark knows his stuff on the Mopars. Shop looks good.
