My avatar is an oldie of somebody's grandma. I'd like to make a contemporary copy of it if I ever find a girl with a butt that cute to pose for it. |

Epilogue:
After driving the car for over a year for many many miles I am happy to report that the shimmy is almost non existent. The only time it occurs now is when I hit a particular manhole cover located about 50' before a stoplight near my house (and it only happens if the light is red). Solution: I change lanes before I hit the manhole cover! I'm not sure what exactly caused it or what solved it but getting rid of the shimmy was the most perplexing problem I have yet encountered with the Model A. Thanks for the help guys. |

Back in 53 when I had my 1st A,I would hit a pot hole at the edge of town & it would set off a violent shimmy. It took some time to find the cause, but it turned out to be that the LH steering arm was slighty loose in the spindle.I tightened up the spindle nut & it cured the problem.
