If I'm pleased to hear that, I can only imagine how the owner feels.

I would like to know the details too. Did some kids take it for a joy ride and then dump it somewhere?

I’d be surprised if it was kids joyriding. These days, how many kids know how to drive a stick shift, and how many would know how to start a Model A?

But I agree, we need details! Enquiring minds need to know!

"UPDATE. 02/03/2025 Found off of road in Hugo, Oregon. Out of fuel. Light scratches, some deep. Radiator over flowed probably do to running it with the spark lever fully retarded plus it really needs to have a radiator flush. Oil looks good, no visible stress to head gasket. Got it started and purrs like a very Happy Model A. Perpetrators were not caught. This car has a fun history. Keep an eye out for its story. And yes, Social Media helped find it. Thank you all! "

That's awesome, glad it was found, mostly unharmed. It was good that it ran out of fuel before something worse happened to it.

I've heard other oldies say that but IMO, it only proves how little we know about the modern world. The kids would google it and watch a Youtube clip or two and away they go.

I first learned to drive stick on my 1953 chevy 210, I had read car manuals since i was 5 years old, so I knew how the system worked. It took me about an hour of driving through the neighborhood to get good at it. When I got my A, I knew how to drive stick and just went with it. Now I'm so spoiled by my A I can't drive automatics anymore, always hunting for a clutch pedal and spark advance!

I will concede that there are exceptions, but I will stand by my opinion that your average theft-of-opportunity joyride bozo would not be able to drive a Model A. Now knowing a car is “available” and preparing for it as Synchro suggests, that’s a different story.

And if in fact the thief did overheat the car by running it fully retarded, this would imply that he/she (equal opportunity, folks) wasn’t your true knowledgable connoisseur.

I would have loved to have seen the jerk's reaction to the car spitting rust in his face. Serves em right

You are completely incorrect, it is the same car I posted about originally. Look at post #1. Black Vicky, red 16" wheels...

I have no idea what other Model A was stolen?? Are you suggesting there was another Black Vicky with red wheels stolen in Oregon on the same day?

I'm very glad that the car was recovered with so little damage. It could have been much worse.

Y-B, I didn't look at the Facebook post because I'm not on Facebook. But it does appear to be the same car and the same general location. Only difference I saw was that the "recovered" picture showed trim rings in the wheels.

It is the same, please read the text from FB and compare it to post #1.

At any rate, I am glad it was recovered before to much damage was done or so;d off for parts.
