Default Re: What do you do with your dipper tray in oil pan

On a couple of engines that have sat around for a while outside I've seen some rust on the inside of the pan and tray. After cleaning, I've used Evaporust to get rid of that rust, followed by cleaning again, blasting and then coating with oil.

No holes, no paint, nothing! Henry didn't, neither should you!

Good Morning...Jim is correct...I have disassemblied a number of old 'A' engines, and almost all had old oil in the dipper tray. Clean out the tray and use it as Henry intended. An engine that is run, even only now and again, will have old oil in the dipper tray...so it will not rust. An engine left on its side...could certainly have some rust in the tray...Ernie in Arizona
