Good Evening...Over the years, I just tend to bring the hand throttle down a click or two as I come up to a stop sign or light. It just seems to work for me. I don't even think about it most of the time. Ernie in Arizona

That happened to me, backfiring as I throttled down. I checked everything, found the screw that holds the timing cam was loose throwing all out of whack....Old one was worn,
new screw solved everything.
