Agreed. Amazing what just a 1/2" will do. Wheel is certainly centered better in the fender opening.

Lookin' good, Zach.

I agree with the mods, very nice little truck you have there.

Thank you everyone.
I made a bit more progress setting parts together and deciding what to use and how things fit, etc.
Also bought some new rear tires. it will have 6.50x16 rear and 6.00x16 fronts probably on 40-48 wheels in the end.

This had the passenger grill on when I got it so we set that back on, mainly since it's the same color (which is NOT the final color).... but its growing on me so it may stay, we'll see... the pickup grill has already had a bunch of work as it was smashed in at the top about 1" right at the ford emblem, I assume from when the truck was crashed that bent the frame so bad, also the bottom is rusted and needs some more work.

At this point I am leaning towards running a 3.54 rear and with the 6.50x16 tires it seems like it will be a decent RPM to run around and get up to 60-65 for a short spurt on the highway if I wanted to drive to work, etc.

Trying to sort out tube shock mounts on both ends now but getting a little side tracked with spring cleaning.

At least it looks cool sitting in the garage now with the roadster.

Thanks Pete!
That's my son, Henry, in the photo by the way...

Here is what the truck looked like when we first pulled it out of its hiding spot in 2020
I think it was purchased about 20 years earlier and parked there.

It seems like the rear spring collapsed from having so much weight in the back for so long. Not that it had enough leaves to begin with.

My 41 pickup runs 3.54s with 6.50:16s. It drives really well. When I went through the gearbox I used a 15/29 gearset. The whole combo is well matched.

Thanks! I have been debating what trans gears make the most sense with this combo. I guess it depends a bit on the amount of power you have to pull 1st gear on a hill.
Good to know that 29 tooth isn't too low. Thanks!

I like it! I want one. I don't fit in one.

Had a bit of a delay with this truck. Family, life and other things always seem to interfere. Anyways, a few friends helps to get a bed floor for me from summit to save shipping. It finally arrived yesterday so I'm back to digging in here. I layed the panel in, aside from being warped, it doesn't have the rivet holes pre drilled on the flanges. I was assuming I could base off of those and figure the wood thickness. So with that in mind. Does anyone happen to know the correct dimensions for the wood boards that go under the steel floor? Also I bought some 6.50x16 rear tires and put used 6.00's on the front on a set of old black 40 wheels.
Thanks for any help!
Zach
