The Goodyear tires being discussed in this thread are USA made, by Kelsey in cooperation with Goodyear.

The locations you cited are likely true across their entire tire line, but not what we're discussing here.

Hello again, some what related, was a post on Ford Barn on painting the logo on tires. Goodyear has a flag that is blue and yellow on a silver pole , Firestone had the shield in red .On some Ford Factory photos you and see the color is different from the black of the tires , of course they are only black and white photos. Also I recall a mounting strip near rim area to make sure the tires were seated correctly.

Research shows evidence that John Lester Kelsey manufactured at least part of the Goodyear Collector Series of tires and was the exclusive distributor of such. He passed away in 2023 and it seems to be that his daughters took up the business after his passing. Goodyear Tire and Rubber likely granted him use of the name in return for royalties under a license agreement. Coker did much the same with the tires they produce. Hopefully, the manufacture of the Goodyear branded tires will continue for the line that they manufacture in Camdenton, Mo. or wherever they are currently produced. The facility in Camdenton is not a very large facility so they may have another site or they subcontract the manufacture elsewhere. That's all I could find.

I had 4 new Firestone 19”black walls for my coupe As I was completing the restoration I bought a fifth one and put it on the spare. After 8400 miles I had my first flat and put the spare on the ground for the first time. That very unused spare was the first of five by far to wear out, significantly before the others. Did Firestone have a bad batch of tires? I will never know, but the next set of Goodyears lasted longer, and now have Stahlwille radials I will probably never wear out!

My Firestones are 23 years old, never had any issues, just wear from toe-in and 20 years later, they fit in my fenderwells (with some air taken out) just fine.

I am sure with any product you can get lemons and Grade A product, life is like a box of chocolates ...... who said that?
