Well, that's me, standing on the near side of the dog. Although I don't specifically remember, my guess is we are looking at a hawk. My G-father, in front of me, had chickens and always had to watch out for them.
Bessie was the dogs name.

It is very likely that your dad did in fact have a hand with the building of the Meyer's-Welch engine in my '36. The '36 was originally from Idaho Falls, ID, sold new by Bonneville Motors. I can still clearly recall the blue color of the engine and the Blue Ribbon Meyer's-Welch tag on the left head. I pulled the engine out to put a hopped up 59AB engine in the car, I sold the 21 stud engine to a friend for $25., it was still running in his '36 sedan five years latter. My car is a very late '36, therefore it probably had a LB engine in it originally, however, there is no guarantee that the replacement was an LB.
