I would only go with 1 piece pulleys - it seems the 2 piece pulleys coming apart is a real problem.

If available i'd use a metal cased leather or combination felt wiper/leather lip spring loaded oil seal as both the felt&leather material are kinder to older style lubricants&metalurgy& DON'T leak &won't "mark/score" the shaft,
Modern neoprene seals if there's even a slight "nick" in the sealing lip will go hard(run dry) resulting in "marking/scoring" on the shaft causing a groove negating use of a aluminium speedie sleeve&in worst case scenario expoy to fill in the groove(s). |
