Default Front motor mount

Hi all, I’ve been doing some tinkering on my “new” model a and noticed that the front motor mount doesnt look original. Im not sure the name of it but it is the style that has the two upper springs connected together and has rubber inserted inside of the upper springs and only rubber on the bottom. Is this mount considered a “upgrade”? I have been chasing motor vibrations and have calmed them some by setting the timing again. But could this engine mount also be transmitting more vibration to the frame than what the original mount would have transmitted?
