It's a 4 door sedan convertible. I don't know how rare that makes it. Not suicide doors, front and back open the same way. The piece i was asking about goes between the front and back glass when both windows are rolled up. I believe it is a pillar post. I find zero info on this. I guess because convertibles are rare. I guess Ford figured you would always have the windows down when the top was down. I would love to find a pair, but realize I may have to fabricate a replacement, but I can't even find a picture of one.
Thanks

You might try the Benson Ford Research Center in Dearborn, Michigan to get the info you need or drawings of the pillar posts.

I'd start looking for a pair as they are fairly complex. Failing finding a pair, TJ's suggestion about obtaining a copy of the original engineering drawing of the parts would be the next step. However, you will need the part number of the pillars in order for them to locate the drawing in their records.

To that end I recommend that you look for a 1939 body parts catalogue to obtain those part numbers as well as a whale lot of other useful information. At same time, look for a 1939 chassis parts catalog. I don't recall that either of them were ever reproduced, but inexpensive original copies show up frequently and are worth their weight in gold.

If the engine was complete and had the air cleaner on you might be lucky and get the engine running ok after sitting 20 years.
Oh, and the light switch is at the bottom of the steering column and the "knob" is in the center of the steering wheel, it rotates.
You have been given good advice about obtaining the Early Ford V8 Club's 38-39 book.
If there is a Regional Group of the EFV8 club near you I would encourage you to join it as there will be folks there who understand the old Fords and have experience.
The oil was close to the fill line. No water. Somewhat dark, like a engine that has been running. I take that as a GOOD sign.
I totally agree with you that the styling of the car is better then anything today. So what are the other 2 that you like?
