FWIW:

Multiple Interpretations:

Some may even think Mr. oldbird55's biggest problem is that he has written below his name, "Post: 13", an unlucky number ....... and if he would ask just one more question or render one more response, Jupitor would move closer to the Moon and with his "Post #14", his luck will change, and his Model A will start. How many today read their daily Horoscopes?

Also, I think Mr. oldbird55 should win a prize for expressing his Model A's condition in one (1) single, succinct 1930's telegraph type sentence ....... just a lost art most people today fail to recognize.

May his Model A start prior to Christmas !!!!!!

Oldbird55, I understood you had a starting problem and I'm not well educated. I would listen to Tom and Mitch and disregard some of the other comments. I would love to be there,!! trying to figure it out with you. I have some friends in Knoxville area and would like to visit you when I'm down next summer. Let me know what you found to be the problem Mr. Youngbird55. Merry Christmas to your family from mine, Pat

this needs to be clarified; no juice to coil based on what? test light? meter reading? no spark at coil wire?
Maybe he did not return because people were ignorant and mocked his English capability. Wayne

Tom Wesenberg's suggestion is the best, most efficient way to check the circuit.

With key on, open points and see if there's voltage at the moving arm side of the points.

Then let the points close and do the same check. There should be no voltage indicated. If there is still voltage present there is corrosion at the points not allowing current flow to ground. Either file the points or replace them.

Simple, huh?

Mr. oldbird55 seems to be the type to have lots of fun reading his 28 replies.

That seems to be a very strange attitude. There will be people who have very little 'A' experience who KNOW the answer to a particular problem while, at the same time, the old favourites just talk the talk and skirt the issue. I presume there are members who don't bother posting on an open forum but just pm their experts.

My interpretation of Mr. Chuck's most intelligent analysis given in reply no. 28 is that some Forum members will always think differently.

Few recognize the truth and so few see the real in-depth analysis of the most "simple" solutions to such "simple" elementary Model A problems from actual experiences.

Mr. Cornishman is hitting the nail directly on the head in his reply no. 30 ..... thanks Mr Cornishman et merci beaucoup.

This Forum, in my opinion is far more entertaining than corrupt anti-American CNN, the corrupt New York Times, the entire corrupt current vacationing U.S. uninformed Democrat Administration ... and even more entertaining than the old Amos & Andy Show .... nobody can ever guess what will be said next by whom.

Mr. Ryan should be praised often for keeping Americas unified.

I read these Forum's posts for one (1) reason ..... like the Tom W's., the Mikke V's, the Mitch's, & too many to list who gave all of their "free" most valuable time to assist others .... we often forget who to thank.

If you enjoy totally different opinions, just smile & stay tuned .... this forum can cure depression and all other mental diseases if you stay tuned in.

I'm standing back on this one, but may I suggest: try smelling your coil. That and many other parts, subject to overheat, will leave a tell-tale odor = roadside diagnostics. In the shop, get out the diagram and the voltmeter and test light as others have recommended.
