Interesting link, Mike V. Florida. One of my cars had one and one did not. One of the flea market vendors at the MARC meet had some nice ones for sale, so I bought one for the car that did not have one.
Screen in or out, one needs to be careful filling the tank on a Model A. The tanks are not that big, so I go slow regardless. It's a little more trouble filling with a screen, but not enough to matter to me. |

I've never had a repro screen.Mine all were found in the barn,or under the seats of my cars.I don't have any trouble once the gas has started to run in,it is that initial blast when I first pull the trigger.I don't go to any stations that have the bellows on the nozzles.

All of the Gas hoses here in California have the Bellows/Vapor return system.
I fill on a slow speed setting and don't have any problems. I do raise the nozzle near the top to top it off. Maybe some stations have higher flow rates?
