Lowest I've seen here is $1.479, average is more like $1.699. I saw diesel at $2.399, too. Helps to have oil wells and refineries an hour away.
And the food store where I also get gas has rewards points, so last fill-up was actually at $1.399... 10-gallon limit

$2.19 for regular in Coral springs, FL. It's cheaper in counties with a lower tax.

Right about $2.00 here now in our downtown, one red light town, of Rising Sun, Maryland. If these prices remain through the summer of 2015, our several planned road trips for this year will be much less costly

$1.67 in Tucson.
I remember growing up in Los Angeles in the 6o's gas was always $.26 and if you filled up (10 gal min) you got a free drinking glass, dish or box of laundry detergent. The occasional "Gas War" between two rival stations got the price down to $.19 a gal. |

Just filled up here in the metro Detroit MI area, $1.76. Lowest I remember paying was '68 or '69, 26.9 cents a gallon. It was prolly less earlier but I got my license in '66 and it ran about 30 cents at that time. Gas wars would bring it down a few pennies.

Here in the rip-off state of Pennsylvania we are at 2.35 and the new Gov. wants to add 10 cents more tax to make everyone happy I guess. Then I heard the Federal is going to get more tax also.

Lowest I saw it was as a kid in the 60s at Tenneco stations in central Florida for 23.9ct/gallon. $1.50 to fill up a 6 gallon boat motor tank. I remember thinking 59ct a gallon was robbery during the first Arab boycott in the 70s. My 1980 VW diesel burned 99ct a gallon. That was the high point for gasoline $$ for me as when I retired in 20101 I was making 6x what I was in 1980. Last edited by mrtexas; 01-21-2015 at 01:58 PM. |
