Re: Restored Air Cleaner
I have an air cleaner like that on my 33 and was wondering about that top pad too. What does it do?

Re: Restored Air Cleaner
I think its a silencer but it also sheds and preserves that old car smell.

Re: Restored Air Cleaner
Hi, I just purchased a V8-60 air "cleaner" thinking it was an oil bath air cleaner. But it looks only like a silencer, no room for oil or a filter for that matter. All it has is the hardward cloth ring with the "birds-nest air filter" behind it. I am unfamiliar with V8 parts, so is there an oil bath air filter for use on a V8 carburetor, that perhaps fits a 81 or 97 carb? I plan to run this on a Model A with a single downdraft carb. Thanks.

Re: Restored Air Cleaner
I am running a K&N in my 40 Woody. It was a bolt in, once I found the right part number. No modifications to the metal housing. Looks perfectly original from the outside and filters much better than the horse hair that came with it stock. If anyone needs the P/N for the 40, message me and I'll research it again.
