Re: '36 3W on Ebay
it appears as if the used a 51 52 ford pickup front end and a 46 pickup hood....the grill could be studebaker.....the front bumper 50's ford......just an assembly of parts that were layin around and available!!...would still tow it home!!

Maybe this car was done by the same design team that did all the American cars in 1958!

Reminds me of the '42-'48 Continental -- which made an instant classic of the '41! Or Wallace, from Wallace and Gromit!

Looks like it's pretty much untouched from when it was in Florida 2 years ago. I still think it can be saved and turned into a really cool period custom. I would start with a '39 Ford or Zephyr front end I think...

Re: '36 3W on Ebay
Yes it's ugly, maybe it was made for a Mad Max movie but never painted flat black
Anyway, the basic 3W body is all American steel, that you'll have to work with. Many great looking car have come from lesser beginings.

Re: '36 3W on Ebay
Mikey makes a good point here . Yeah it's the mutt of mutts but the 35 2d body shell that didn't sell on epay a couple weeks ago would have cured MANY of it's problems . I think it was only bid up to $600 or so . A no-rust donor 2d shell spliced through the front of the top opening would go a reallyy long wayy towards making this thing back into a car . Like I said in an earlier post the 3w a buddy fixed years ago was an oinker like this but it turned out fine.

Re: '36 3W on Ebay
Come on John, accept the challenge. If anyone can SAVE a car, you can. Think about it..... Then again ,at our age I don't think there is enough time. It's a shame, one of the most beautiful cars turned into ?????? Keep looking...

Re: '36 3W on Ebay
I think the car could be repaired or the correct sheet metal put on....a challenge but repairable!!

Re: '36 3W on Ebay
I think your right. The top chop is very well proportioned and does have great lines. If it does not sell I will get a donor 36 sedan and put this body on it. I will use the stock cowl with the tilt windshield, front clip and run a flathead. Once you get past that 80's gold chain custom job [ they must have been styling cruising around Bogotá in this rod ] there is still a 36 3 window coupe under it. I know 32's are the gold standard but I think 35/36 3 window coupes have the best lines of all pre war cars. That's a bold statement but it's my opinion.
