Re: Help Identify a 1929 Coupe
Thanks Dale, I am actually struggling with Florida DMV because we never had a title for the car. The latest is I need to bring it to Jacksonville Regional DMV for an inspection. The car isn’t running yet but hopefully soon

Re: Help Identify a 1929 Coupe
Over the years we have found that many states listed the year of the car by the first year it was sold/titled and not by the year it was manufactured. Look at how and where the tail light is mounted on Rusty's coupe. The 28s had 3 mounting holes on the rail at the bottom of the body on the lower drivers side corner of the rail (not on the fender).
NOTE: If you need a 28 tail light bracket I have a couple. |

Re: Help Identify a 1929 Coupe
My taillight is mounted directly on the drivers side fender, only one light, nothing on the passenger side.

Re: Help Identify a 1929 Coupe
I see no evidence of the 3 mounting holes on the rail at the bottom of the body on the lower drivers side corner of the rail (not on the fender) therefore I would say the body is a 29. The emergency brake in front of the shift lever was used until July 29. I have seen some early 29s with the squeeze grip handle. (Note: over the years your transmission or transmission cover could have been changed for an earlier one.) If you can locate the date stamping on the gas tank, while not telling you the date the A was assembled it will tell you when the gas tank was made giving you a hint that the A was probably assembled within a couple months after that date.

Re: Help Identify a 1929 Coupe
The gas tank date is on the drivers side above the seam.

Re: Help Identify a 1929 Coupe
I was originally looking inside on the drivers side. It's in the engine compartment on the drivers side......the only number I can honestly make out is a 29, the other 2 numbers I would be guessing, will try with a magnifying glass.
