I've sold completely bare 59 blocks for more than $300. If you decide not to buy it, post the sellers contact info. Someone else here may possibly need that engine and be very happy to get it for that price.

I personally won't pay much more than $100 for a core engine. Sure a good block is worth $600. But consider you pay $300 for the engine, then you have to spend hours taking it apart, have it thoroughly cleaned, magnafluxed and pressure tested. That is at least another $150 plus a lot of your time. Then what if there is a problem with the block? It also looked like the starter was missing. Oops, saw it sitting next to the engine.

OI,
59a says its a late 40's...the crank mounted fan says it was in a
'39 Del to '41. Blue is late 40's also. Some parts have been switched around
....so what....I'm 70 and have lots of parts changed.
I'd pay $300 if the seller guaranteed no cracks. Remember
cracks from a stud or bolt thread into the water jacket are no sweat,
your HUGE gamble is cracks from a valve to the bore. If he guarantees no
valve to bore cracks buy the damn thing. The block is the THING ,every-
thing else is abundant. The 59 and 59a blocks are pretty strong and
resist cracks better than others.
As with most of the BARNERS I've got at least 25 various
timing covers and arm fulls of distributors ,carbs, etc..blah blah blah.

300 dollars is a small price to pay for a complete engine. However your lack knowledge of these engines will cause problems in the future. What are you going to do with it??

Well, since this thread is over a year old, it might be nice to know if the engine was or was not purchaced.

Sorry it took some time to respond.
I Found a running flattie in a dump truck for twice as much and it included the tranny and radiator. I know 300.00 dollars might not seem like much money for some, but for most it is. Glad I held out and found this.

You should consider another hobby if you consider 300 too much

You did not get a bargain if you considered the dump truck transmission a "plus". It is only good for use in a , well, "dump truck".

Tell Jack where the other engine is so he can build someone a "dream engine" for their Ford.
