And that's just DC, which Thomas Edison had a preference for. Then "along came" AC, promoted by George Circle-Bar-W, in which the electrons (or holes, or mice, or meeces, or little men, or whatever) "run" back and forth, apparently in utter confusion. [We will not delve into what's actually generated in a generator, the finer points of the commutator, nor the net migration of 'trons in a circuit.]

Sometimes, much like heavier than air flight, I'm convinced it's all smoke and mirrors.

Sigh...once an engineer, always an engineer. [My long-suffering wife's version of this is "God save us from engineers," or maybe "God, save us from engineers," but then, she's never taken an engineering course...]

Well, Steve,
Chief was not an electrical engineer, but he made learning FUN with his humorous examples! Thanks for straightening me out, as I thought all those "little men" were comin' out of the + post, flooding out to the body, frame, and any metal part & desperately searchin' out for any electrical component, so's they could go through it & return to the battery through the -wire! (Loooong sentence!) The dog is No help on this one. Bill W.
