My Dad's uncle in Sante Monica, California with his 1930 (or 31)
AA. He was a fruit and vegetable pedlar. He moved to California from Denver, Colorado on orders from his MD due to a heart condition circa 1927. Of interest to me is that the lug nuts and snap rings on the tires do not appear to be cad plated. Maybe due to poor photography film of the time?? ![]() |

As a sidebar to my above post, I purchased an early 1931 AA 157 wheelbase in 2005. Would love to find a huckster express bed and canopy
for it. Anyone have one for sale?? Ray ![]() |

I believe that truck was still seeing service in Santa Monica in the early 1950's.

Hi Norway,
Your tin Ford sign is a reproduction of the cover from the German "Ford Im Build" magazine from I believe the November 1930 edition.....kind of like the German version of Ford News. These tin signs are available in three different sizes and are current production items that are readily available in Germany. Check out the German eBay web site where there are many of them listed for sale. This sign is one in a series of five different tin Ford signs, all reproductions of covers of "Ford Im Bild" magazines except for the first one in the series which is a reproduction of the cover of a German Ford brochure that shows a Model T. On all of the signs, the "... Im Bild" part of the title from the original magazine covers has been removed....thus leaving only the Ford script. The artist who drew the artwork is Reuters....a very famous European automobile artist that did many of the covers for "Ford Im Bild" magazine as well as the artwork for many other car and oil company manufacturers of the era. Works by Reuters are very collected and sought after in central Europe. Hope that helps....though off the topic of commercial Model A's.... Fordially, Brad in Germany now in Maryland |

When I was in Osh Kosh this past week I was introduced many times as "this is Tim, the guy who keeps posting in the Commercial Vehicles thread." I'm ok with that.
So, here we go with the commercial vehicles of Osh Kosh 2012. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -Tim |
