Thanks and it sure gets a lot of phones pointed at it driving it around . The leave it alone comments beat the paint it comments about 3-1 . Definitely going with the majority on that one . Probably dreaming but a NOS LH runningboard with shelf wear would finish it off . David J

Have you replaced the rear end with one from 1935 or later? Wondering why the rear sits so far forward! DD

DD, you're right, I think the rear spring was put on backwards at one point which puts the rear end too far forward. Doug.

Doug....Interestingly, putting the spring on backwards (IF that is actually possible) would move the rear end REARWARD. The spring ENDS and crossmember arc toward the front.

One other possibility......IF the car was changed-over from a 4-cylinder to a V8, or some such scenario, a 4-cylinder torque tube and driveshaft are shorter than the V8 parts. If they were not swapped for the longer V8 parts, bolting the torque tube to the transmission mount would pull the rear assembly forward. If that is a possibility in this case, we have dimensions for the 4-cylinder and V8 torque tubes so that you could measure yours. DD
