32 Ford Steering wheel lock is bent?
My 32 Tudor had to be towed with a tow strap last night. I forgot to unlock the steering column and when the tow car turned I struggled to turn the steering wheel. I think I messed up something. Once I finally got the wheel unlocked it felt like it was binding some where. What do you think I did...maybe I bent the locking mechanism when I had to force the wheels to turn...where would you start the fix?

ARE you talking a stock set up? I don't think a stock lock locks the steering wheel.
What did they wrap the strap to? maybe the interfered with the steering with the strap and bent something.

Re: 32 Ford Steering wheel lock is bent?
Jim,
An original ignition/steering column lock does indeed lock the the steering wheel once the spring-loaded plunger lines up with the slot in the sleeve on the steering shaft. |
