Just pry it out with a tool of choice. Bill W.

A claw hammer or pry bar works OK.

As long as the drum is still on, slam the assembly on the concrete with the seal down. The weight of the bearing will knock the seal out. Might take more than 3 good tries, but beats trying to pry the seal out. Rod

You are rowdy, Rowdy,
Great idea!! Reminds me of an oooold commercial where a GORILLA threw a Samsonite Suitcase out of an airplane then it gets run over by a Model A & a TRAIN!! or am I confusing it with some old indestructible watch commercial??? (Like, it keeps on TICKIN'' after bein' eaten by a CROCKIGATOR!) Love you, Brother, Bill W.

Drill a hole and use a sheet metal screw/slidehammer or sidecutters.

Cut of an old axle shaft to use as a fulcrum. Get a "Cats Claw" from Home Depot. Pry it right out. There was a thread a year or two ago with pictures.

Here are the photos. I saved them from when they were posted here. I plan to make one, but have not got to it yet.

Glenn:

You will destroy the seals while removing them. I would advise ordering new ones from A&L. Their's fit properly. Most of the other suppliers stock it too large in diameter.

Bill, nothing rowdy about it. By the time others have walked to their tool box I am already done. Rod
