Default how to pull a flathead

I've got a 8ba in front of a ford-o-matic in my 53 f100. I'm going to have it rebuilt, but I have to pull it as the rebuilder isn't setup for that. I've looked around for instructions but haven't seen anything directly related. Last motor I pulled was a 302 out of a mustang, 15 years ago. I have a stand I can borrow, and will rent a engine hoist. Can I leave the tranny in the truck? All in all the combo must be close to x00 pounds. I'd appreciate any insight I can get.

Thanks,

Bill

The complete flathead weight is about 500#. You should be able to unbolt the flex plate from the converter, put a jack under the trans and pull the engine with a cherry picker. Hope you have room in your shop to roll the engine picker forward with the engine hanging on it. Walt
