We reviewed the various kits several years ago. Since then we found an adapter that makes the one shown above a little easier and neater to remove and install the filter.

My grandpa use to use an oil filter on his coupe. He said when changing the filter one time, he decided to get an ax and chop it open to see what was in it. He said it actually caught a lot of stuff. For some reason he didn't use the oil filters on the engines in the cars now, not really sure why.

Authenticity.

Even novices and non-owners can spot a modern oil filter, alternator, turn signals, distributor cap, master cylinder, plastic fan, 16" wheels, etc, etc, etc. They know they don't belong.

Just change the oil every 500 miles, or more frequently if you're concerned about reliability.

Oh, no! You mean somebody would notice?!

Oh, well. At least no one can see my crank's counterweights, or my compression ratio, or bigger valves, or Pertronix ignition, or hot cam, or V8 clutch, or antifreeze, or multigrade oil, or notice that the electrons are going in the wrong direction.
